Isabel Aznar, nicked named Mamabel, came to Mojacár thirty years ago, from Caravaca de la Cruz her hometown, together with her late husband the writer , poet and painter Jean Marie Raths and her two sons. Those were the days when Mojacar was discovered by artists and subsequently later by tourism. Mamabel remembers the extraordinary ambiance from those days.

Nowadays Mamabels is an institution. There is practically no Mojaquero/a or resident that hasn´t met or heard from this extraordinary woman. Although she happens to be one of the first persons to seriously start a catering business in Mojacar, now has the priced recognition for her gastronomy and for the business she directs.

Mamabel has an other passion which is to create hand made dolls from all ages , and putting them on display.

Since december 2009 her son Marcos and wife Simona have running the hotel together with Mamabel.The hotel is placed on Embasadors street in Mojacar village itself, with its cubic arquitecture which divides and shares itself over diferent levels, as if it was a castle.

It is a very special building with it´s famous big arched window of arabic style that recalls the ones from the Alhambra. The interior decoration with lots of art and style.The hotel keeps the flavor of past times from which Mamabel has a direct responsability in the promotion of tourism in the area. You cannot speak of a complete trip to Mojacár without visiting this emblematic place in Mojacar vilage.
